who doesn't enjoy a warm bath?
i've tried to avoid posting too many macro ones up to this point but they'll be more likely in this last section as we're starting to struggle more for relevant themes.
luckily, this was a very hot idea.

art by the incredible @CupsOfJade!

get it, because earth, wind and fire sung that song! do you remember?

with slimevr's latest update, i feel like the chances of us getting ours before next furality/our birthday are pretty slim

i know we should probably just buy the tundras, but something just keeps us thinking about sony's mocopi.
they're a bad idea for multiple reasons (not officially released in the UK, as far as i know they're still pending updates where the hand trackers can be shifted to other points for better accuracy within VRC even if there are other ways of doing it)

but situationally, they feel like the trackers we'd probably be most likely to use
one thing to charge and keep track of
less bulky + working under blankets for laying in bed at silly hours in the morning

if you're on cohost (and especially if you're following this account), you might be a fan of devices, and you might even be the proud owner of a couple of devices yourself!

now, we don't really make devices anymore because they've all been replaced by phones, dab pens, and The Cloud, so all your devices are probably somewhat outdated, like 20-30 years old.

we all know of the dangers of leaky electrolytics, AAs left in battery compartments, the horrors of corrosion, etc. etc., but today, i learned of a new horror i had never considered. the internal backup battery. you know how on pdas and similar devices it's generally very nice not to lose your data? and how we didn't really have flash storage figured out yet when those devices were relevant? well. that's where these fuckers come into play.

i knew this pda relied on battery backed memory to prevent data loss in the event of a power failure, but I never really bothered to check up on it. it ran out years ago and by then this pda had been relegated to be nothing but a toy to occasionally pull out and look at. i guess i should have bothered to check up on its internals before but it's been in the family since it was new, i knew it was well cared for, so i never really felt the urge to do so.

tldr make sure you don't forget about internal backup batteries when doing preventative maintenance on old devices because those shits will leak all over the place if left to their own devices

do you have an old game boy and copies of your childhood pokemon games?

if your save files are still around, get something that can back them up, and then you'll probably want to swap the battery on those too
